So this morning we had his presents ready for him, the kids and I were so excited, we had been keeping them secret for a week, that's a long time for me!!!
Elijah giving Robbie his present. Ok, I still have a budget, sorta, but I do know how much I want to spend, and this year we decided on camping stuff since he's the scout master and has to go camping once a month. So a real canteen or um, what's it called the thing you put your drink or soup in that is insulated? Well whatever they were like $25.00 so we got him a water bottle instead.
Then Mia gave hers to him,
Hi, Porter, yes I know you want to give him yours too, hold on a sec.
So, I called my friend Julie's husband and asked what to get him and he gave me some ideas, a mess kit, a tent, a sleeping bag, a flashlight, stuff like that. Well a mess kit was $5.00 which I could afford but it was aluminum, and super cheap and Bob, that's my friend's husband, said he would just eat out of something like that, that the cast iron is better, well that was $25.00 too, so I thought I would just get him, plates and stuff to eat off. That's just his, that he can keep with his camping stuff and if it's lost or broken I won't get mad, so Mia gave him 3 plates and a knife and fork.
Ok, Porter your turn now. Porter gave him, bowls and a spoon.
Then the family gave him a 6 person tent!!!!! Do you now see why I was being so cheap before??? We have been borrowing a tent every time he has to go camping, he might still keep doing that, since it's a two person tent, and this one is 6 but whatever, it's not my problem.
Then it was my turn, here he is with his bag I made him. He noticed it and he really like it.
Then he pulls out this paper, he's like oh thanks for the paper.
Then he reads it and he's like oh tickets to wicked, Now he's happy!!
And the photo album I made him. He really liked it. He showed it to his dad and brother and he's taking it to work to show his co-workers.
Breakfast. He loves bacon and French Toast, and I never make either for him, so I figured I would make his favorite.
Porter loved it too.
Ok, so Kylie was being a pill, earlier so she didn't get to give him his present then, so here she is later giving it to him. A flashlight!!!! What camper doesn't need a flashlight???
Robbie and his kids before church.
Aren't they cute????? They better be they took all stinkin' day!!!! My brother in law came and he's like oh, that's interesting, I said, no they are cute, they are not interesting. You have no idea how long these took.
The french fries, they are really sugar cookies!!!
We had a whole tray of them.
Bakerella made them and I just had to, had to!!!!!
Robbie's brother and dad came down for dinner. Porter loved Tony, he was leaning on him and watching him play on his IPhone. It was so cute. Porter just climbed up on him and sat next to him.
Porter eating his cupcake. I didn't decorate the kids like hamburgers. Porter didn't care.
Ok, so I know I totally over do everything, but hey it's who I am and I know I do it but I do it anyway, so it's just a fact. So I have been up since 6am cooking for today. I should have done some of it yesterday, but I was so engrossed in my book, "Shopaholic takes Manhattan" yes I know very deep reading, but I didn't want to put my book down to do stuff for today. So I made breakfast for everyone, then I made cupcakes (from scratch), brownies(from scratch), sugar cookies(from scratch) and then Vanilla custard (from scratch) then we went to Stake Conference, which was long, but I really enjoyed the talk from Pres. Lewis!!! I think he is such a great man, and I really liked the few words from Pres. Gettel. He can really related the scriptures to your life. He puts them in a context that you think oh wow, it still does apply and I know there was things I needed to hear today. We are so blessed to have such wonderful leaders in our Stake.
Ok , so we get home, I put the bean on to boil, I forgot to soak them the night before, I make pasta and tomatoes and basil for lunch. Then I make salsa and assemble my trifle. Make my salsa, Robbie made his own guacamole, and helped clean the kitchen. Then I started my enchilada sauce, and sat down to assemble my burgers and fries!!!!

We had French toast and bacon, too! I also never make it, but did today. Loved the little burgers and fries. I saw some like them on my favorite blog, "Cake Wrecks." On Sunday, they have a post called "Sunday Sweets," which are nice cakes, etc. instead of the normal "wrecks," and they had some on there. Yours looked really cute.
Man, you know how to party!! Love all your dessert ideas with the french fries and burger! Looks like Robbie had a good day, and his presents were great!
