Riddle me this.

Ok if any of you know me at all, you know I do not eat vegetables. (I will do my trip to UT post but I'm so curious that I had to do this first)
We have a garden and we are growing vegetables. How ironic is this?
So this is what we have grown.
Will someone tell me what they are???? And what to do with them???
Robbie thinks these are cucumbers. Cucumbers???? They do not look like cucumbers. Do they?
Close up of cucumbers.
This looks like butternut squash??? Am I even close???
Now this he thought was a watermelon, until he cut it open then he saw this...
He says it tastes like zucchini???? It's round and as big as a watermelon, could it be a zucchini??
Oh and if anyone does have any zucchini, and it's coming out of their ears, I would love some to make zucchini bread and zucchini brownies, I will share the outcome of my baking with you.
And if you need any white long "cucumbers" then let me know I will share.

Wow.interesting. They look like members of the squash family to me!! But I wish you could send some zuchinni to me. I am a lover of veggies.

The second one is yellow squash, YUM!! We love it sauteed in butter. They look wonderful! The first one appears to be a squash also..maybe a huge cucumber. However cucumbers don't usually curve when they get too big. And yes the last one looks like zuchinni. You should try a zuchinni chocolate cake. It's great, and you don't even taste the veggies!

These are a type of English cucumber, but it almost looks like they got cross bred with a squash because of the way they curve...hmmm. The others are both types of squashes. The only type of squash I really like is spaghetti squash. You bake it or steam it in the microwave and then take a fork and lift out the strands of squash and eat it with spaghetti sauce, just like noodles. It is really yummy, and low in calories because it's all veggies. I like it because it doesn't get that mushy texture like most squash...it stays firm unless you way overcook it. Anyway, we planted that along with cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, beans, tomatoes, strawberries, and raspberries. We just planted our garden here in Colorado though. It's always too cold until the end of May.

Those are called burpless cucs. You don't even have to peel them if you don't want to. I have some good recipes for all of the veggies you are growing. I'll email you!
