Cara Mia's surgery

Cara Mia had surgery today for her reflux. The kids were all feeling better but Robbie was not feeling so well so he stayed home with the kids and I took Cara Mia to get her surgery.

It went really well. She was so cute. Here we are before while we were waiting.

Then she got changed into her gown (with clowns) and after that she got really shy and nervous. She wouldn't talk to anyone and kept saying that her stomach hurt. I said that's because you are nervous, you'll be ok. Here she is after she is in her gown and she just buried her head in my chest and wouldn't look up or talk to anyone. All of the nurses and drs were very nice and sweet. The Anesthesiologist was especially nice. He had an English accent and he said we will take very good care of your little princess. Which made me feel better too.

She was such a big girl when they came to get her to have her walk back to the surgery she went with them and didn't cry or anything. She's such a big brave girl.

So I went to the waiting room and called Robbie and told him she's in there and then about 30 mins later the dr came out and said it all went well. And that it's good we did it because it would have never fixed on it's own. Her ureters are on the side of her bladder and he said they were really wide so if this doesn't work then we have to do the reimplementation. Which is what Kylie eventually had to do. So hopefully this works.

Then they came to get me to go to the recovery room and it was nice because they had this lazy boy chair for me and they brought her into me and I got to hold her as she woke up.

The first thing she said to me was " I want my ice cream" I had told her since she couldn't eat breakfast or drink anything this morning that I would take her afterward and get her a frosty. And of course that is the first thing she thinks of when she wakes up. I told her after we left we would get one on the way home. So then my friend Julie came and hung out with me for a little while. Cara Mia just loves Julie and she had bought a cheesecake for me from costco so she was dropping it off for me and came in to see Cara Mia. Cara Mia didn't really talk but she did keep asking when is Julie coming. So it was fun to see her and visit for a while. And thanks Julie for the cheesecake I'll get you the other 5.00 that I owe you. Costco over by her (not by me of course) had Cheesecake factory tuxedo mouse cheesecake (which is my favorite) for $13.00 for an 8 inch cheesecake. Hello they are like 8.00 a slice at the cheesecake factory so I bought one for Valentine's day and we can use it for our anniversary too. I'm sure we won't eat the whole thing even then.

So then they discharged us, except Cara Mia didn't want to go (she thought we were getting ice cream there) so I told her after we leave we'll get our ice cream.

So we stopped at Wendy's on the way home for her frosty. It went very well and she is doing fine, just taking it easy and relaxing on the couch, drinking her frosty.

WTG Cara Mia! I am glad the surgery went well. It is never easy to see the kids go in for surgery. What a trooper. WTG Tiff and Robbie too! I'm glad Cara Mia got her ice cream - she earned it.
