Thanksgiving Weekend

This Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. I did dinner at my house, I love to do it and my grandparents were actually able to come this year. Even after all that happened with my grandpa he is doing better. The dr's say he is fine but you can tell that his memory isn't all there and he forgets things a lot, but he is doing better than he was thank goodness.

So I started cooking on Monday, I made pumpkin muffins and Apple cake (so we could have breakfast on Thanksgiving. We ate them all week too)
Then Tuesday I made my sides, and just stuck them in the fridge.
Then Wednesday, My grandparents came that day!!!! Woo Hoo I made them grilled cheese for lunch, they love it and so do my kids so it made it easy. Then we made 2 pumpkin pies, 1 apple pie, and 1 pumpkin chocolate cheesecake.

Elijah was so happy to see Grandpa, he just loves him. He hung out by him the whole time and kept saying "Grandpa, I love you."

Thursday we got up early and got the Turkey in the oven then just sat around and played games and hung out since most everything was done.

I made a cheese ball on Wed too so we could have a snack before dinner, since I wasn't making lunch. So we ate crackers and chips and vegies with dip and my cheese ball.

Then the Turkey was done actually 1 hour before we thought so we took it out and let it rest while we made the potatoes and gravy and warmed the sides.

Then my Father in Law Bob came and we all ate. It was so good. I put a whole stick of butter and half a thing of cream cheese in the potatoes they were SOOOOOOO Good.

Then we rested and had pie a little while later.
It was a fun and relaxing day. Then later that night we played games with Nana.
The next day they had to leave at the crack of dawn because my grandpa's daughter was coming to visit them that day so we had to say good bye early. So no black friday shopping for us. Robbie was grateful for that!!!

The second we couldn't see them anymore Cara Mia said "when is Nana coming again? I miss her already." I totally know what she meant.
Then later we took the kids on a bike ride. It was probably only like the 4th time they have road their bikes and they have had them since last Christmas, I know bad mommy.

Then we decorated for Christmas and took naps.

Then we made a gingerbread house. My friend Julie bought one for the kids. This is the second year she has done this and they love it. I have to step back and just let them do it because it's not about it being perfect it's about having a fun time.

Then it was time for bed!!!!

Today we just cleaned and organized then took the kids on a bike ride again. Hello I need all the walking I can get after the last two days of eating.
Now we are watching Charlie Brown and then will hit the sack. It was a fun weekend and a lot of family time spent together.
I am so grateful that we were able to spend this holiday with my grandma and grandpa, they are such a blessing to us. And the kids love them so much and enjoy every second with them. I am also grateful for my wonderful husband and how hard he works for our family and home, and all he does around here. My grandparents were talking about that during Thanksgiving dinner, how he has done so much around here and even if he doesn't know how he just tries and does it anyway. What a blessing he is to me. I'm so grateful for my children and the joy they bring me and for their health and strength. I'm grateful for my home, it keeps us safe and protected.
I'm grateful for my friends and all the love and support they give me. I'm grateful for the Gospel and for my savior and for repentance. If it was not for that and my savior's love I know I would not have my family and the life I have now. Also I'm grateful to live in America and for our freedom.
