Zoo Field Trip

Cara Mia last Sunday, she got these sunglasses from her dance teacher and loves them. Ok so Monday, Kylie's school had a field trip to the zoo. I had been telling her that I would go with them but I was not really looking forward to me and 3 kids at the zoo. Robbie decided at the last min to go with us. I really appreciated him coming and it made it a really fun day.

We got there before the bus so we just hung out and waited for Kylie to come. Elijah and Robbie, they are best buddies.

These pictures really are special to me. Since I grew up without a dad and really no father figure, it is so important that my kids get to spend time with their dad and that they have a strong relationship with him. He is such a good father and does spend time with them and make them feel special.

Robbie lifting Elijah up to see something.

Our 1st stop was the elephants.

Then we went to the big open savanna to see the giraffes and whatever else they had out there.
Robbie and Porter hanging out with the giraffes.
Ok, so when we saw Kylie, she did give me a hug but she completely ignored Robbie, so he had his feelings hurt. So I went and told her, go and say hi to your dad, he took time off work, and we paid a lot of money to come here to be with you, go and be nice. So she gave him a hug, but she was so standoffish and wouldn't let me take her picture or anything. This is her and her teacher, Ms. Wechter.
I know I was rude to my mom, but I don't remember being that way until high school, maybe a little in jr. high but not in elementary. So I don't know what her deal is, I even asked her what if I don't go and she said well then I don't want to go. So I thought she would be happy that we were here.
Elijah with the zebra's (my favorite animal at the zoo, well if you don't count the frogs)

Cara Mia feeding Porter, yes our family pretty much lives off of fishies when we go places.
What a cutie, she doesn't mind me taking her picture.

Porter and me hanging out, waiting while everyone watched them feed the sea lions or something. I wasn't paying attention.

Ok, so after that Kylie and her class went to see the sting rays (which cost extra, and we already paid 46.00 to go to the zoo we weren't adding more on to that) so we went off by ourselves. Robbie preferred that anyway, since Kylie wasn't talking to us or anything. So we went and saw the lions. These two lions (it's such a sad story) they were found in Philadelphia in someone's home living in a pack and play. They were going to be put down but the Phoenix zoo took them in and saved them. I'm so happy they were saved and now we can enjoy them. The male (he was laying down you can't really see him) he looked just like Scar from the movie "The Lion King"
Then we went and looked at the baboons. I think I might have a little one here myself. Is she on the wrong side of the fence?
A cool big frog. I got my picture taken on it too but they were all blurry.
Elijah was running and he fell and scraped up his knee so he got to sit in the stroller and Robbie gave Cara Mia a piggy back ride.

We finally caught back up with Kylie and walked her to the bus. Then they left to go back to school. We decided to hang out and play. They have this big tree house with slides and stuff on it, so we let the kids get some energy out.

Robbie and Porter saying hi!!
They have these cool frogs over by the play house too so we got pictures on them too.

Elijah had to be in a picture too.

Then they took a ride on a dolphin.

Robbie and Porter wanted a ride too.
Me and my crazy boy Porter. Yes, I know no shoes on again. We brought them and had them on him, he kept kicking them off. And now I can't find them. I'm pretty sure we brought them home but I just can't find them.
